Audiocodes: Phone phreaking

The VoIP pioneer, Audicodes came to us with a very 'esoteric' - how do we get the world interested in our Enterprise-Session Border Controllers (E-SBC)? To most E-SBC is just a bunch of letters but to big business it's a device that stops someone hijacking your telephone system to make illegal calls or intercept your messages.

'Phone phreakers' were a phenomenon of the 80's, a subculture of people who wreaked havoc with telephone systems. We took the idea and gave it a modern twist. The News of the World journalists hacking episode was firmly in the spotlight so we were able to highlight the dangers of VoIP communications in a very modern way. We achieved coverage in UK, Germany and France.
